How reviews work

Reviews published on Olfamo come from members who share their experience of a fragrance.

Who can post

Any member signed in via a link sent to their email address, with a public username. A member may publish at most one contribution per fragrance, which they can edit or delete. By publishing, they confirm they have smelled the fragrance themselves and have no connection with the brand or a seller.

Purchase is not verified: Olfamo does not control the purchase or use of the fragrance.

Publication and moderation

Reviews are published immediately, without prior review, then moderated after being reported. Any signed-in member can report a review (off-topic, abusive or hateful language, spam or advertising, personal data, fake review or conflict of interest, other). A review reported by 3 distinct members registered for more than 24 hours is hidden pending a decision. Moderation can hide, restore or delete a review; its author sees the status and the reason.

Links, email addresses and phone numbers are rejected in texts.

Ranking and summary

Written reviews can be sorted as follows:

A text of 280 characters or fewer is shown as a short impression. The summary counts all published contributions, with one vote per member; an average is only displayed from 3 responses.
